Dorothy W. Courington, II, received her A.B. degree from Sweet Briar College in 1972 and her J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1977, where she was Research Editor of the Georgia Law Review. She is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia.
Ms. Courington concentrates her practice in the areas of banking and corporate law, real estate and probate and estate planning. For many years she has been a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Department of Law handling real estate acquisitions in the area for various state entities. She is also the author of “Capital Formation in Small Businesses: Securities Law Considerations” published in the Georgia State Bar Journal and more recently “New Changes to the Guardianship Code,” in the Savannah Association’s Citation.
Ms. Courington is active in the Savannah community, currently serving on the Boards of United Ministries, Inc., which is a community effort serving the poor and homeless, and Skidaway Health and Living Services, Inc., a non-profit corporation which owns and sponsors The Marshes of Skidaway Island, a continuing care retirement community.
