Kathleen Horne received her B.A. degree cum laude from the University of Georgia and J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of several honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif.
Ms. Horne has been named a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Bankruptcy and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, past-President of the Savannah Bar Association, co-founder and past director of the Coastal Bankruptcy Law Institute and past-President of the Bankruptcy Section of the State Bar of Georgia. She is a former member of the State Board of Bar Examiners, the Formal Advisory Opinion Board of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar Investigation Panel.
Ms. Horne has served as Secretary of the University of Georgia Law School Advisory Council and is a member of the Advisory Board for Savannah State University College of Business Administration and the Chatham County Alternative Dispute Resolution Board. She is active in the Savannah community, having served on the Board of Directors of United Way and the Advisory Board of Chatham County Appointed Special Advocates and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Historic Savannah Foundation.
Ms. Horne has been named one of the “Top 50 Women Attorneys” in the State of Georgia by Atlanta magazine and a Georgia “Super Lawyer.” In addition, she has been previously awarded the Georgia Association of Lawyers Achievement Award and the Business and Professional Women’s Club Women of Achievement.
Ms. Horne practices primarily in the areas of creditors rigths and bankruptcy and is a frequent lecturer on these topics.
